A marvel POWER PLAY!

The marvel Cinematic universe (MCU) will be going through major changes in the next coming years. could we see Power man soon? With the enormous character lineup at their disposal, marvel will introduce and replace individuals interchangeably. For example, the departure of Iron man and Captain America from the Infinity Saga, but with the high speculation of Riri Williams (Ironheart) joining and Sam Wilson accepting the title from Steve Rogers. The lineup could be drawn from the Fox merger or the recently expired deals from Netflix. Either way, the speculation, and hunting is wide open for anyone to come and make their debut!

Power Man

One character I feel deserves better justice from marvel is Power Man. There are different iterations of this hero, so there is no clear cut person on who will show up in the MCU. Recently, Mike Colter played as Luke Cage in the live-action series on Netflix. Luke Cage is the first individual to take the mantle of Power Man. There is no guarantee Luke will jump from Netflix to the MCU. With that, I believe Power man is coming, not Luke Cage.

Victor Alvarez

Victor Alvarez is known to be the third individual to take up the mantle of Power Man. I am not convinced Erik Josten will be Power Man, but I digress. Victor is the son of Reina Alvarez and the criminal villain, Shades. Alvarez is another marvel character with the Hispanic heritage they could introduce. He has similar powers as Luke, but with the ability of Chi Manipulation. The ability to absorb energies as he did when he saved Ms. marvel during the war of the Realms storyline. This skill is very close to Luke Cage’s partner in crime, Iron Fist.

His comic exposure is very notable and associated with the Mighty and new Avengers teams. Recently, he joined the modern Champions team with Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales, and others. He dons the same iconic costume as Luke and presented in the comics as a teenager. Victor Alvarez’s first appearance is in Shadowland: Power man #1. According to ComicVine.com, he has appeared in 167 comic issues. The exposure is good for a young hero and shows promise for his future development. In addition, his connection with Luke Cage is terrific as well. The outlook for Victor would be long term, but it is a possibility.

Power man wrap Up

There have been no graded sales so far. So the buying opportunity is there to start digging through dollar bins for this character. Victor’s fresh and modern look makes him a very optimal character for marvel to use going forward. His connections with the avengers and other modern heroes are perfect for what is needed for an appealing character. His mixed heritage helps to provide more character diversity as well. I could be completely wrong on which Power man will show up in the MCU, but the risk is fairly low in grabbing his first appearance. Anyways, thank you everyone for reading and happy hunting.
