2008 Isotope Minicomics award Submissions open

I’m pleased as well as honored to when once again serve as a judge for the Isotope award For excellence in Mini-Comics, which has begun accepting submissions for this year’s award.

“There is honestly nothing that makes me happier every year than to get the chance to assist spotlight a creator who is toiling in the underground making something wonderful,” stated James Sime, proprietor of Isotope, the comic book lounge in San Francisco. “And I understand that many of you available are hand-crafting some mini-comics brilliance, let us assist share that work with the world!”

In addition to Sime as well as me, judges include Josh Cotter, 2004 champion of the Isotope award for his minicomic Skyscrapers of the Midwest, since republished by AdHouse Books; Jason McNamara, Xeric Award-winning author of a number of books, including The Martian Confederacy; as well as Kirsten Baldock, librarian as well as Isotope special projects Director.

To enter, send five copies of your minicomic to Isotope at 326 Fell Street, San Francisco, CA 94102, before October 24 at midnight.

The award will be provided out in conjunction with the alternate press Expo in San Francisco. since of the nature of this award, the champion will be contacted in advance as well as must be present at the Isotope at 9 PM on Saturday, November 1, for the award presentation ceremony.
